i like geeks

I don’t, according to this quiz, have Aspergers. My score was 9/50 so very low. I can empathise and read body language, which is handy when you are a reiki master-teacher.

Most people I know are clever programmer and/or musician types who see patterns in numbers and chords, so they probably score quite high on the Aspergers scale. Once you know that people who have a high score are not being rude, but just they can’t ‘read’ emotions or tend to rant about a topic for ages or get fixated about something trivial, it’s easier to deal with. They just need an outlet to express themselves in a different way and learning an instrument or how to code can do this pretty well. It’s when you try to control their habits or get people to conform in social settings, that the trouble starts.

try the quiz yourself here.

well I’ve done it 3 times (what does that say in itself!?) - with slightly different answers because I’m not sure about some - and I scored 24, 23 and 27.

One thing this test fails to take into account though, is not liking something you’re good at. For example, I’m often unhappy in social situations but I’m perfectly good at social chitchat (whatever you might say as my other half!) and get on really well with people - for example running the merch stall after a gig, where you get all kinds of people and all sorts of conversations thrown at you.

V interesting though. I liked this lots more than the ‘am I depressed?’ test you made me take last month!!

I got 27. I am big into patterns and numbers and have a tendency to obsess on both. I really am terrible at meaningless chit chat (especially on the phone - I can come across as a bit of a miserable git, or more likely a bit of a moron), I have nothing like diplomacy the majority of the time, but am a social animal in the right company, so I agree with Chris in a way and think that it doesnt scrape more than the surface. I am not shy, I just don’t function well in unfamiliar surroundings…or something…i am babbling…

Where’s this “Am I depressed” one?

    Hello Evan

it’s an online quiz so of course it’s not going to take in all the nuances of all your ticks and twitches. I like a good quiz though as I am obviously self-obsessed. that’s why I like horoscopes.

Doesn’t everyone have suicidal thoughts? check it see if you are depressed here:

TWENTY FOUR?!!??! I’m not bloody depressed. This Goldberg chump knows nothing!!! hahahahaha…

I too enjoy a good quiz. Especially if I know the answer. It’s not really of the same ilk, but http://freerice.com/ is great. Unfortunately, I dont seem to be able to take the words away with me and use them in conversation to make myself look really clever.

I am also a big fan on online IQ tests, as for some reason i can score pretty high online, and not so in real life. I found one once that made me 2 points off genius, which to me just pointed out the failings of the test. Although, obviously, I am the cleverest man alive (well, sitting in this chair certainly).

Chris just informed me that he didn’t introduce us at Jim Bob. Please give him a slap for me.

I am now addicted to Free Rice. I’m going to drop ‘platyhelminth’ into my next meeting.
